It was threatening to be a disastrous winter in Sokółka, Poland. At temperatures as low as -15 degrees Celsius, the 110 dogs at the shelter have to live in their huts without the possibility of taking refuge in a heated room. Now it was necessary to act quickly, because without the necessary food the dogs would not be able to build up a protective layer of fat and strengthen their immune system to survive this extreme cold. Enormous financial expenditures that have to be made by rescuing and caring for dogs in need presented the shelter with a major problem: How was this large amount of food to be raised? 😟
